The Editorial Board of the “Ukrainian Journal of Constitutional Law” adheres to a full and immediate Platinum Open Access policy. We firmly believe that free access to research results fosters a global exchange of knowledge and drives the advancement of legal science.

1. No Article Processing Charges (APCs) and Submission Fees

Publication in the Journal is entirely free of charge for all authors. No fees are collected from authors at any stage of the editorial and publishing workflow. Specifically, the Journal does not charge:

  • Submission Fees: manuscript submission, initial desk review, and evaluation are conducted free of charge.
  • Article Processing Charges (APCs): layout design, DOI assignment, and online publication require no financial contributions from the authors.
  • Page Charges: exceeding the standard length or page limit of a manuscript does not incur any additional fees.
  • Color Charges: processing and high-quality rendering of color charts, tables, or illustrations are provided completely free of charge.

2. Sources of Funding

The operations of the Journal, including website maintenance, technical support, typesetting, digital object identifier (DOI) assignment, and the distribution of mandatory legal deposit copies, are sustained exclusively by the institutional support of the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, alongside the non-commercial organizational support of the Publisher (LLC “Editorial Board of the Journal ‘Ukrainian Journal of Constitutional Law'”). The Journal does not accept commercial advertising and maintains no other hidden sources of revenue.

3. Print Edition and Subscription Policy

  • Open Online Access: The Journal does not offer paid subscriptions for its electronic version. All individual articles and full-text issues in PDF format are permanently and freely accessible for reading, downloading, and copying directly from the official website.
  • Mandatory Distribution: Physical printed copies of each issue are distributed free of charge to core academic and scientific libraries in Ukraine, as well as to the Constitutional Court of Ukraine.
  • Print Copies for Authors: If an author explicitly requests a personal physical (printed) copy of the issue, they must cover only the actual printing costs charged by the printing house and the postal/shipping expenses for delivery. The online open-access version remains primary and completely free.

4. Licensing and Copyright Policy

Starting with the 2026 issues, the Journal officially adopts the international standard for open-access legal publications. All articles are published under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).

This license permits anyone to freely read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles, as well as to use them for both non-commercial and commercial purposes, provided that appropriate credit is given to the author of the original research and the primary publication in the “Ukrainian Journal of Constitutional Law” is properly cited.
