Ukrainian Journal of Constitutional Law / «Український часопис конституційного права» publishes materials on an open-access basis and adheres to the principles of authors retaining copyright and of the free reuse of published materials in accordance with the terms of the applicable license.
1. Copyright
Author(s) retain copyright in the published article and all related rights that have not been transferred to the publisher on an exclusive basis.
The publisher of the journal – «Ukrainian Journal of Constitutional Law Editorial Magazine, Limited Liability Company» – does not acquire exclusive ownership rights in the work. For the purpose of publishing the article, the author(s) grant the publisher a non-exclusive right of first publication, as well as other non-exclusive rights necessary for the editorial preparation, reproduction, publication, distribution, archiving, and provision of open access to the article in both print and electronic formats.
The granting of these rights does not deprive the author(s) of the right to use, distribute, archive, translate, reproduce, and republish their own article in accordance with applicable law and the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license, provided that the original publication in the journal is properly acknowledged.
2. Creative Commons License
Articles published in the journal are made available under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) international public license.

Under the terms of CC BY 4.0, users are free to:
- copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format;
- adapt, translate, remix, transform, and build upon the material;
- use the material for any purpose, including commercial purposes.
The mandatory condition is appropriate attribution, a link to the license, and an indication of any changes made to the material.
The terms of the CC BY 4.0 license apply in full in accordance with the text of the official license and are neither supplemented nor restricted by the journal’s editorial office.
3. License Statement in Published Articles
The full text of each article, including its PDF version, includes:
- the name(s) of the author(s) and the year of publication;
- information about the publisher;
- the applicable licensing terms;
- a link to the official text of the CC BY 4.0 license.

4. Copyright in Third-Party Materials
CC BY 4.0 applies only to materials for which the journal and/or the respective rights holders possess the necessary rights.
Certain figures, photographs, tables, documents, excerpts from texts, or other third-party materials, the rights to which are not owned by the author of the article or by the journal, may not be covered by CC BY 4.0. Such materials must be properly identified in the article, with the relevant rights holder, license, or legal basis for their use indicated.
Authors are responsible for obtaining any necessary permissions for the use of third-party materials where such permissions are required by law.
5. Open Access
The journal operates under a Diamond Open Access model. The full text of published articles is available free of charge and without registration through the journal’s official website.
Authors are not charged any fees for submission, peer review, editorial processing, or publication of articles (there are no article processing charges (APCs) or other mandatory publication fees).
6. Self-Archiving and Reuse
Authors may deposit and distribute the published version of their article, including through their personal websites, institutional repositories, and other academic information resources, provided that the requirements of CC BY 4.0 are observed and the original publication in Ukrainian Journal of Constitutional Law is properly acknowledged.
7. Original Publication and Citation of the Journal
When reusing or distributing an article, it is recommended that the full bibliographic citation of the original publication and its DOI be provided.
For example:
Published in Ukrainian Journal of Constitutional Law, [year], No. [issue number], DOI: [DOI].
8. Publication of Translations
If a scholarly article is also published in another language version in the journal, each language version has a separate publication record and a separate DOI.
The metadata of the translated version specifies its relationship to the corresponding original version. The translated version is likewise published on an open-access basis under the applicable license.
9. Website Copyright
Copyright in the design, software code, structure, and other elements of the journal’s website is governed separately and shall not be construed as identical to the copyright in the scholarly articles published on the website.
