The Ukrainian Journal of Constitutional Law adheres to a policy of full and immediate open access to scientific publications (Platinum Open Access). We believe that free access to research results fosters global knowledge exchange and advances legal science.
1. No Submission or Article Processing Charges (No APCs)
Publication in the Journal is completely free of charge for all authors. No fees are charged to authors at any stage of the editorial and publishing process. Specifically, the Journal has no:
- Submission Fees: peer review and initial processing are conducted free of charge.
- Article Processing Charges (APCs): layout formatting, DOI assignment, and online publication require no financial contributions.
- Page Charges: exceeding standard length or page limits incurs no extra charges.
- Color Charges: high-quality placement and processing of color graphics, tables, or illustrations are provided free of charge.
2. Sources of Funding
The Journal’s operations, including website maintenance, technical support, typesetting, Digital Object Identifier (DOI) assignment, and distribution of mandatory legal deposit copies, are based exclusively on the institutional support of Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, as well as non-commercial organizational support from the Publisher (“Ukrainian Journal Of Constitutional Law” Editorial Magazine, LLC). The Journal does not accept commercial advertising and has no other hidden sources of income.
At the same time, individual issues of the Journal may be published with the financial support of international organizations and projects. In particular, issues No. 4 (2020), No. 3 (2021), and No. 4 (2021) were published within the framework of the project “Supporting Human Rights Protection through Enhancing Access to Constitutional Justice”, implemented by the OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Ukraine with the financial support of the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany. Such support is strictly financial in nature and does not affect the Journal’s editorial policy, selection of materials, or peer review outcomes. All manuscripts undergo independent double-blind peer review in accordance with general editorial procedures. Information regarding third-party sponsorship for a specific issue is mandatory disclosed within the issue itself.
3. Print Version and Distribution Policy
- Open Online Access: Subscriptions to the electronic version of the Journal are not offered. All articles and full-text PDF issues are completely free to read, download, and copy directly from the official website.
- Mandatory Legal Deposit: Physical print copies are distributed free of charge to key academic and scientific libraries in Ukraine, as well as to the Constitutional Court of Ukraine.
- Print Copies for Authors: If an author wishes to receive an individual physical (printed) copy of the Journal, they cover only the actual printing costs charged by the press and postage expenses for delivery. The online version remains primary and completely free.
4. Licensing and Copyright
Starting from the 2026 issues, the Journal officially adopts the international standard for licensing legal publications. All articles are published under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).
This permits anyone to freely read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of articles, as well as use them for non-commercial and commercial purposes, provided proper credit is given to the original author and primary publication in the Ukrainian Journal of Constitutional Law.
